A question on sequence... why does it matter?

The fluid is in a closed system that doesn't circulate, so the fluid in the line to, say, the RR caliper, never mixes with the fluid in the line going to, say, the LF caliper.
When you push on the brake pedal while driving, the fluid is pushed out to all the calipers at the same time, right?
And when you bleed the brakes using a pressure bleeder, you are pressurizing the system and bleeding it at each caliper. But why should sequence matter?
Is there something in the system that makes the sequence critical?
