The implication is that 0-xx weight oils of a specific manufacture’s brand may not have as much ZDDP as the heavier weights like 10W-30.
The concern is the flat topped cam followers and cams, like Saab has used from the 99's through the 9K's and beyond, can fail if there is not enough ZDDP to maintain a low wear surface film. Was this done to accommodate the older engines that tend to specify 10W-30 and 10W40 oils? Need to check if there is different API ratings for different weight oils?
