Saab seats are among the best. That is not to say other (usually premium) manufacturers don't do a good job, but we've done loads of long trips in a range of rentals + saabs + well, there's no comparison...

Even between Saabs there are differences... my favourites actually are the seats in our 1989 c900! Better than the 1993 c900 (c900 adopted the 9000 style after 1989), and also better than our 2004 9-5 arc. I got to do back to back 1000 mile trips in a 2004 9-5 arc + the 1989, and I was surprised by that! That is not to say the differences were huge though...

Anyway, in any of the saabs I can drive forever... 1000 miles in the 9-5 stopping twice for gas + food... other rentals we've had on long trips (Forester, Legacy, Mazda5, GMC Acadia, Impala and others) did not compare (usually leaving me feeling stiff + sore within hours, though some were better than others)... I should note that we've only had Saabs with leather seats... that may be a factor, but I doubt it... it's design...
