I bought one of the very first Weber gas grills, and it was awesome. After about 15 years of year round cooking and zero maintenance (I might have replaced the flavorizer bars once), it needed some repair and I wanted something a bit bigger.
So, about 5 years ago, I bought a new Weber with 4 burners going front to back rather than side to side. It has never worked very well. It is hot in front, cold in back. Hard to do indirect cooking because the 2 outside burners cannot keep it warm enough on windy/cold days.
To Weber's credit, I did call and complain and they sent me new internal parts (burners, flavorizer bars, grates) FOR FREE. It then worked pretty good for a few months, but now, about 2 years later, it is back to not working very well. I've read on the internet that I need to clean out the holes in the burners, but why does this happen when I never had a problem with the old one.
The outside is still in great shape, I just don't think this burner setup works quite right vs. the side-to-side. I hate having to consider buying a new grill after "only" 5 years, but I am...
