I'm partly impressed that the crime rate must be low enough that the cops can take the time to bust a bunch of kids, but it also seems really unnecessary that they would be so militant about it. I mean, tracking them down by wallets and cell phones - that's a pretty significant/expensive use of police resources, even before getting to the administrative costs involved in "prosecuting" them. I for one wouldn't be thrilled about thousands of dollars of tax payer money being used to harass a high schooler for what is ultimately a parenting and noise complaint issue, but I suspect others might have different opinions than me on that.
