With a new car there are the minor (free) adjustments over the first few months of ownership. Then it's just scheduled service for most owners. So for the first 3-4 years not much really fails. When it does the warranty is important, but how often is it really used by a new owner? I've only had 2 new cars, and hardly used the warranty on either. But I made great use of CPO warranties--those are in the period when stuff starts to wear out.
With new Saabs, aside from where to get it serviced, one problem will be in diagnostics, and the lack of shared knowledge dealers have on the inevitable trouble spots that show up on any new car.
But as most here have noted, parts are going to be the biggest challenge. They can even be trouble for cars that are in production, as my buddy with an M5 learned. He was rear-ended, and while the body damage wasn't bad, the car hitting him went under his bumper and the M5's exhaust system was heavily damaged. Took almost 4 months to get a replacement, because it's a long-life part and there were no new M5 exhausts in North America. And the only ones in Germany were going on new cars. He's been buying Bimmers from the same dealer for 20 years, but that was no help.
