I don't disagree with you.

Somewhere back there is a link to an article on it that provides some specs. It was basically just a demo to sell motors. I don't even know the extent to which it was tested, but as a concept, I think it's pretty cool. Not so much in that we need a 640hp EV with stupid torque on the roads but more so that using smaller motors and a simpler setup, one could make a vastly more practical vehicle that is not a golf cart. One that has very comparable performance to the SAABs we are used to. See the very bottom of the thread for links re the prototype car that Volvo built using this platform. I'm sure there are hurdles to overcome, but the concept is quite interesting to me.
