These are readily obtainable but you have to navigate some bureaucracy. One of my daughters is a fashion model and needs a visa to work there for more than a casual gig. We just did this as she's going over in September.
To get the visa you'll need a letter stating the job and the dates of the contract/employment. It needs to be fairly officia-looking, so the agency may be able to help with that. Then you need to apply for a work visa, get a photo taken, and submit the application with the photo, the letter, and your passport to the British Embassy/consulate. A few weeks later you get the passport back with a visa on one of the pages. It costs $300/visa.
Then when you get there just remember to look right, left, right when crossing the street. Driving on the left is no biggie as long as you have good situtational awareness.
