O. T. Gas can

Its mowing season again, and our gas can nozzle split from age and affects of gas. Went to buy a new one, and they were horrid contraptions. Big government has struck again! To pour gas, the nozzle has to be twisted to an unlock position, and then pressed against the mower gas tank with such force the tank is subject to failing. The fuel passes through small passages causing the refueling process to take longer. Do you want to hold a 5 gallon gas can up any longer than necessary, let alone grab the nozzle with both hands to unlock it? No wonder I saw a neighbor pouring gas into his mower directly form the can! Thought he was nuts, but now know why. What is the answer to this, throw away the contraption nozzle and use a funnel like the neighbor? Or is there something better out there?
