I have a few gas cans I've literally picked up along the roadside. Probably flipped out of a landscaper's trailer. They are all the old type that you can just pour from. But as the old caps die they can't be replaced--the threads are different.
I've gone through 3 of the modern CARB compliant pouring spouts, all of which seem to die in a season or two. And they're all awful to use. Why do I need two hands to use one?
So I mostly break out a funnel and pout the gas into the tractor, lawn mower, snow blower that way, direct from the can. I'm a cheapskate and I refuse to buy a new-style cap that's going to break.
This all reminds me that I need to go to the hardware store and get a couple of new rubber gaskets for the old caps.
