2.0T with direct injection. It's an update or two past the last 2.0T used in Saab.
My 2000 9-5 2.3t with the smaller Garrett turbo and manual transmission could see 44 mpg two highway average at 60 mph. I drive 58 miles for work mostly highway. Of course the fuel economy drops when I leave the highway.
The 2013 Verano Premium 2.0T with 6-speed purrs at 60 mph with a diesel-like 1,700 rpms. With the Saab I could eek out a 43 mpg 100 miles to Mom's one-way but was seeing almost 48 mpg with the Verano. And was with AC on in 85F temperatures.
On our recent Lancaster, PA, country road drive toward Ambler at the end of the day the Saab was seeing 29 mpg at worst, the Verano was seeing 32 mpg on paper on one tank over the same country side but with AC on.
AND the Verano is quiet! Quieter than it's big bro LaCrosse in the road noise department running the same size tires.
