I would not describe myself as a Subaru hater... more just that we have many Subie zealots in our neck of the woods, so some counterpoint is required... they have lots of good qualities, but the ones I drove did not do much for me - noting that I have not driven a WRX which is basically Scott's car, and a generally highly regarded Subaru!

It looks like the toyota hit the engine compartment side on and it looks like it held up quite well (depending on speed, angle etc). It is a shame both doors were impacted as that small damage will unfortunately increase the cost of repair.

A word of advice for Scott - watch that you get a good paint application. Cheap clear coats in particular can peel down the road, and I suspect if I can run into that problem "way up north", sunny California will cause this even sooner. Really non-trivial to fix peeling clear coat it seems...
