Yes, depending on thickness, that's about 4 sheets at ~$20/sheet for 1" foil faced eps... and the R value will be better also. I avoided suggesting Reflectix because it is quite costly for what it is (fancy bubble wrap).
The key to this is - is it reusable on the new door? If the sizes are the same, maybe... otherwise, would you burn through $80 of energy heating the garage a bit more if this is only a short term problem?
I agree that plumbing and heating ducts really should not be in unconditioned space, pretty much regardless of the climate. Lots of potential for problems of various sorts.
