Never drove a S40 but I do have two S60s, one a 5-cylinder and the other a 4-cylinder. Both automatics. I’ve said before that my Saabs ‘drive’ better than the S60s but both are sticks so comparing Volvo s60s to Saab 9-3s can be difficult.
My now 60 year old butt does enjoy the comfort the S60 provides as well as the safety features my ‘16 S60 has as I’m now making a lot of the old man driving mistakes I cursed at in my youth. Volvo S60s are perfectly competent cars that can be had for nothing on a used or CPO basis. Five star crash all around and you might actually survive a moose hit (not an issue in the SoCal desert but those coyotes are getting bigger!).
As for Audi, the lesson I learned from my sister who had two and from former colleagues is that Audis are cars you lease, not buy. You can turn them in before the trouble hits so you’ll never have to have Otto der Mechanik on speed dial.Posts in this Thread:
