Back in the late 80's, I lived in Austin TX. I just bought a car (my pre-Saab days), and immediately had the windows tinted. Anyone who ever lived in Texas knows it's a necessity there. I few months later, I moved to St.Louis MO. A couple of weeks later, I dropped my car off at a mechanic to get it inspected so I can get my Missouri tags. A couple of hours later, the mechanic called me a work telling me that my car failed inspection. It was less tan a year old, how could it fail? It turns out that tinted windows are illegal in Missouri (at least the shade of tint I had.) I had to remove the tint. So, it depends where in the country you live!
