Lub on the axle stubb will not hurt. But do not libricate the interface between the wheel and the hub. This needs to have high shear friction. Because this interface then will not shear slip, the bolts will be in pure tension as intended.
When you lubricate threads, for a given torque, then threads will turn further, and this increases bolt tension. So in theory, the bolt will be over tensioned.
When you libricate the bolt head interface, for a given torque, more torque gets through to the bolt shank.
So when you grease both areas, there are two mechanical processes which will provide a greater bolt tension for the same torque when lubbed.
Now tell me, is the torque specification for the crankcase drain bolt wet or dry? :)
