Very reliable, very heavy, full-time 4WD, good power via V8, available navigation system, great cargo capacity, seating for eight, good-looking, safe... I have a '93 and it's been a superb vehicle, I only wish I had a '98 or newer so I had the V8.

By the way, the Land Cruiser will be no more by after the 2002 model year (or maybe 2003, I'm not sure) as Toyota will only offer the Lexus LX 470. You'll notice that with each passing model year the LC and the LX become closer and closer to the same vehicle. For 2001 the only differences are different grille in the front, slightly different dash configuration, adjustable ride height control, better wood trim and leather. Other than that they are already the same vehicle. Either one is excellent (edge to Lexus), but Lexus = snob.

It's too bad that during the mid 90s the SUV became a yuppie vehicle. We bought ours for safety and seating capacity since most of the other SUVs of the day didn't have airbags (the '93 TLC doesn't either), thus a heavier car would be safer.
