Comparing an allroad to a 9-5 V6, using stats from Edmunds.com. Seems like almost a wash - unless you've got broad shoulders, or your head just hits the 9-5's sitting in the front seat. Front shoulder and headroom, HP/torque, and AWD are where the allroad really is better. It actually has LESS front legroom, according to Edmunds.
Another thing of note, I've heard from several here at work that the allroad (like the S4) is easy to turn into a pig. Yeah, the engine is a blast in the S4, but a might underpowered in the allroad, and if you play with it, the mileage goes through the floor. Several allroad reviews have reflected the same.
---begin stats---
effectively the same length
6 inches wider (is that all tire track?)
1 inch taller
400 lbs heavier
2 inch longer wheelbase
1 inch more front, .5 inch more rear headroom
2 inches more front shoulder room (guess that throws the track guess)
.4 inches more rear shoulder room
1 inch LESS front legroom
.75 inch more rear legroom
.6 cu ft less luggage capacity
50 more horses,29 more lb-ft of torque (.3 less Cubic Liters of displacement and one more turbo ;) )
AWD
3 less/5 less MPG auto
(2 less/5 less manual, fwiw - the allroad comes with a 6M, the V6 9-5 is stickless)
43,775 (MSRP) for the allroad, 39,925 (MSRP) for the 9-5.
