B&O, I think both are overpriced and give back little in sound quality.
There should be some good hi-fi places in Seattle. Don't go to the mass market places that sell Sony, Denon, and such, open up your yellow pages and find some places that sell Rega, Linn, Arcam, Creek, Adcom, NAD, Classe. If you on a strict budget, get a nice integrated amp a good CD and a set of good speakers (Vandersteen, PSB, B&W just to name a few).
Find a dealer that sell these equipment but without the snobbish attitude. Yes, some hi-end dealers do have an attitude, kinda like BMW, Mecedes dealers, but in a place like Seattle, I would think there must be some good friendly hi-end stores.
Many of these stores will let you borrow the equipment and let you test them at home.
Also, as in cars, you can get good used equipment at fractions of the original price.
Go to a good libray and see if you can find the April issue of Stereophile and it has a list of recommended components. You can use it as a reference. You can also go to their site at:

Enjoy spending your money :-)
