Scott a couple things...Look into a local company in your area that deals with helping people out with credit. These companies are usually around to help people with very poor credit but they also will investigate and know ways to help you free of charge. Second keeping open credit and never using it also affects your credit rating. So I would cancel the card if you are never going to use it. But make sure when you do you explain why and that they mail you a certified letter of why you are canceling it. So when you are working to correct the blemish Discover is still in the loop in a way. Also request all your back statements. especially the one with the $183.00. If they can't provide that to you ask them why and get it in writing why they are unable to provide you with a statement that affected your credit rating. It sucks and it is very easy for them to blemish your credit but very hard for you to fix it. Something is wrong with the system...
