Yesterday the NYT had a Special Cars Section
The cover story was called "Nice Mania" and disucssed the growing variety of models that carmakers are making available. It discussed practially every maker on earth and how they are reacting to trends in consumer behavior...every maker except Saab. Like they dont exist.
There was another article about "crossover" vehicles which did mention saab, but in a bad light...Under the sub head "the hatch is back" it discussed how many cars are coming out with hatches and concludes:
"Paradoxically, Saab, which for years kept producing hatchback styles when the rear door was in disfavor, has abandoned it in its latest 9-3 model".
All this goes to my fear that in the new world of car styling and design....the market is headed to many many niche models with distinctive styling...and Saab is headed in the opposite direction
