Hi,
Appeals courts do not often overturn jury verdicts. So, a lot of power
is given to juries who are comprised partly of people for whom $5 a day
represents a pay increase :-)
There are some towns full of unemployed people which trial lawyers love
because the juries prefer to "Stick it to the Man!" :-)
This country's not perfect by a long shot, but it's still the best
country on Earth. Social engineering doesn't work. Just look at
Communism, Sparta, Prussia and Japan.
thanks
Jae
