No real post-warranty surprises, new brakes, stuff like that, but i dont have real high mileage yet. Work is not cheap, I just have it done at the dealer and don't sweat it, I'm not a DIY guy or particularly concerned about the cost, I more dislike the inconvenience of needing to fix things. I dunno about the timing chain replacement, I'll cross that bridge if I come to it. I like the Avant better than the Allroad too, though my aging knees are getting a bit creaky and I busted a leg awhile ago, so I might prefer getting in and out of a slightly higher seat. Good luck.
