Did all your dash lights, wipers slow, radio go out first? That would be a sure sign of the alternator going... could just be the voltage regulator/brushes that need replacing. The other one is a belt, pulley, etc slipping, so check that too and condition of electrical wires (especially the alternator ground, + cable wiring... changing the + cable and red cable to starter worked wonders on our c900's.
