I just recently drove a new '04 hardtop with a 6-speed and put it through its paces. It does everything very well, but leaves you feeling somewhat "disconnected". Don't get me wrong....it's a really nice car. You could live with it on a daily basis if you didn't have a room issue. It's seamlessly fast, quick handling, with great brakes. Directly after driving my buddy's car, I stepped back into my '82 911. The Porsche felt totally connected, and even though alot more harshness is transmitted back into the car, it's transmitted as driver feedback, the quality that I felt was missing in the Vette. However, when you get down to the nitty-gritty and you are seriously contemplating parting with your hard-earned money, it's really tough to top the Vette purchase-wise and maintainance-wise.
