When I had my dealership I bought an '84 Saab 900T for $600 that had been sitting (maybe a year or two, not seven). It had 89,000 original miles, the most prestine body I'd seen since I sold them new and flawless cloth interior. I can't even remember everything we replaced. We replaced every engine gasket, pulled the tranny (auto)and replaced every seal and gasket. Went through six or seven fuel filters getting the crap out of the gas tank. Ended up pulling the gas tank to replace all of the rubber seals and grommets that were leaking. Disasssembled all of the brakes and calipers. Replaced the entire exhaust system and tires. Spent a lot of time screwing around with the injection system/cold start and a bunch of other stuff I'd just as soon forget. I sold it for $3500 and I think broke even if my time doesn't count. Turned out to be a lovely car but tranny went out six months later.
