I don't disagree... though, isn't BMW supposed to be a drivers car? "The Ultimate Driving Machine"? Maybe that is what bothers folks - that they are making an appliance (though actually a fairly refined appliance in some respects). But does an EV need to be an appliance? I don't think so. Tesla doesn't think so. I actually think it's a great opportunity to be cutting edge and push boundaries technically... so for me this kind of falls short vs what I might hope to see from BMW... but I'm sure they will have more electric motors in more (more interesting) vehicles soon enough.
