Yes, I know, it has placed first in competitive tests and is the best daily driver synthetic oil out there. HOWEVER, it has been the oil in use at the time of MANY engine failures at the track from stock cars to race prepped Saabs. There has been a lot of discussion over the ability for Mobil 1 to handle extreme thermal changes while under load. I don't have a clue when it comes to oil like Dean and Dick in Falls Church do, but I personally know a few of the drivers that lost oil pressure at the track with Mobil 1. Frank won't use it in his race cars, he swears by Kendall or Amsoil. This *might* have something to do with your high speed failures, I could be wrong, worth looking into though. :o)
