I nice gentleman brought me his 01 Viggen on tuesday for tuning
we did a stage3 with the big intercooler....
about 9:00 PM I had the car finished & took it out for a drive & within 15 minutes durring adaption WHAM! #1 piston totally went away I mean all of it ended up in the pan.... all that was left in the cylinder was the rod & the wristpin :-( what a bummer
everything that was on the car was tried & true & Im positive that the piston was cracked to beginn with (plugs read rich & no other signs of detonation or audible pre ignition) but I was driving it & it was in my care when it happened so I sent him back to DC with my car & Im building him a new engine with a new block, head, rods, forged pistons with all the gaskets seals bearings for cost of parts at my cost only no labor.....
Ill get some pics of the carnage up today at some point
this was the worst piston failure Ive ever seen in person :-(
I also got ripped off for $830 this month too which was a bummer so its been a pretty discouraging month :-(
gotta keep pushing though :-)
have a great weekend
