The main reason the rescue kit helps with the Viggen torque steer is lat it reduses the movment of the control arm by removing the mushy suspension bushings. The 9-3 chassis has the steering rack mounted high in the car and whe the suspension is pushed out of place because of compression of the bushings it changes the toe. The toe is also changes as the body lifts during accleration causing the wheel to toe out. In the toed out condiction if one wheel loses andy grip the car pulls the other way.
There is not one spicefic cause for the 9-3 problen other than poor design for a performance automobile.
The 9-5 has the steering rack mounted low and the tie rods run parrale to the lower control arm there for not inducing bump steer when the body lifts during accleration.
A double arm system with correct pivot center line, correct bump steer and stiff control arm mounting will not have these problems.
I have driven front wheel drive for the last 35 years. Citreon's Saab, and every thing else. It is alway a mater of design and purpose.
