Perhaps this helps explain why "camber steer" is a misnomer...

Don't mean to be an argumentative, but it really isn't a matter of semantics.
Without the brace things are flexing causing both changes in toe and camber.
My point is that the change in camber is very slight when compared to that of toe. For a given deflection, the toe change will be much greater than the camber change. For a first order understanding of why look at the span from upper strut mount to lower ball joint and compare that to the span that governs toe change. The former is much greater and is therefore less sesative to variation. Secondly part of the deflection is taking place at the rack mounts which have no effect on camber, only toe. So although both quantities change the toe will change a much greater amount.
Secondly the lateral force generated by the tire for a degree of toe change is orders of magnitude greater than that for a degree of camber change. So even if the toe changed the same an`mount as the camber (which it does not, it changes more) It still would have a much greater effect on the resulting steer.
Camber changes are not causing the problem, toe changes are. "Toe steer" or "compliance steer" would be better terms, I just made them up. In the end torque steer still seems like the best description, and camber steer is just plain misleading.
Again "camber steer" could accurately describe a vehicle that pulls in one direction or the other due to different left and right camber settings relitive to the ground plane.
