MBC's on manual vs. automatics

There are enough people out there who have pushed the limits of a SMBC on a t-7 and have achieved similar results, but not everyone. What will be more telltale of these higher boost pressures on the t-7 will be when the colder weather hits. The problem is that not everyone is able to achieve this and people are disappointed when they try. Some viggen owners have had major difficulty dialing in a SMBC and that 5 spd / ecu / engine configuration wouldn't allow it. Once outside of he targeted objective and the experience is much more variable.
Even in the t-5's dialing in a MBC on an automatic takes much more time and is more sensitive to minor changes compared to the 5spd. Strangely enough, whatever changes there are between a base and SE model, the automatic in an SE is much easier to tune compared to the base.
Back to your experiences. It would be worth experimenting more with a bleed style MBC in series to the BPC and compare the results to the ball and spring MBC in series. My guess would be that the bleed style MBC won't help the turbo spool up any faster but it might have less problems with the MTB than that of a higher setting on a ball and spring MBC. I think the point that dean states about the MTB closing and causing back pressure is something to seriously consider when using a SMBC set high on a t-7.
The modified ecu might also be allowing for higher boost settings with the smbc as well that others might not be able to replicate.
