Fuel Leak from Carbie and vapourisation

Ahoy, greetings from Oz.
I had the Sonnet out on the weekend Motorkhanaing (driving fast around sticks in a pattern) and it was great fun. few issues though.
The nose really dived so much on handbrake turns I was lifting a rear wheel a good 3 inches off the ground!! I assume tigher front springs or Shocks may help this. I wondered about gas shocks as then I could return the car to normal for road driving.
Anyway the big problem was the car realluy played up for a while. It has a ForMoCo carbie (for now) and the engine would stall when throttle was applied, unless you coaxed it onto the main jets (ie revving high). I suspect some form of vapour lock as it was ok after 30 minutes sitting.
Also the acceleration pump is leaking ond on acceleration fuel comes out of the carbie.
My question? are these issues related? and I think it will be easier to just go straight to fitting the Weber now (I already have it and the manifold) and not try to get a new diaphram.
Any comments?
Last question - anyone got a picture of th emods I need to make to the throttle linkage to connect to a 32/36 DGV???
