Can't add much to this- no, a Sonett shouldn't draw any current when off.
Except I had one that did. Previous owner had installed a big cutoff switch beside the gearshift. He told me about a year after I bought the car that he installed it because there was a short he could never find.
NOT what I wanted to hear, as visions of my Sonett bursting into flames danced in my head.
That winter, I tore into the wiring. It was a mess to say the least! I pulled out about 1000 feet of extra wiring that someone along the way installed for some kind of buglar alarm. Then I started in, fuse by fuse and circuit by circuit.
The bottom line- someone didn't know how to wire relays properly. I found two of them that were wired in such a way that they drew current all the time. In fact, they really didn't work as relay's any more. Fixed all that and out came the big master switch. THAT made me nervous because the primary wire from the battery had been routed up in under the fiberglass gear shift cover, meaning that it could be against the moving linkage, which could chafe through the insulation, which could cause the car to go up in flames!
Whew! I was glad to fix that nightmare...
