Using the transmission dip stick? Posted by NCCaniac [Email] (#352) [Profile/Gallery] (more from NCCaniac) on Mon, 18 May 2015 11:52:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
After changing the transmission oil last week on my Sonett III, I tried using the new transmission dip stick I had ordered from Mark Ashcraft. It is supposed to be a replica of the original Saab V4 transmission dip stick. The markings on the dip stick are very legible, but I could not figure out how to properly insert it through the transmission filler hole. No matter which way I inserted it, the end would seem to hit transmission parts before the end got to the bottom of the transmission housing. So, I was never sure if I had it positioned correctly to get a good reading on the min/max markings.
What is the proper technique for using that dip stick? (Never thought I would have to ask that question! :-)
