I have had the same problem...here is Mark Ashcraft's response to me when I broke down and asked:
"You should align the lower end of the dip stick so the measurement notches (narrow side of blade) are facing forward (toward the motor) and the wide/flat side of the blade is facing you. Carefully guide the dip stick down between the outside carrier bearing and the ring gear and all the way down until it bottoms out on the dip-stick cross over (bottom of the green segment of the dip stick). Then pull it up and out. If full, the oil should come up to the top (upper) notch of the dip stick if low, it will be more toward the lower notch. Next, check the oil for any signs of contamination, if not competely clean, drain it an put in two new quarts of 75-90wt Amsoil synthetic manuael transmission oil with a GL-5 rating."
Like you, I used Redline, and it's been outstanding - the difference in shifting!
