I think Robby nailed it in speculating that you have (at least) two separate leaks, one brake and one clutch. TWO things to fix, oh joy...
... Yup, you'll have to bleed the brake circuit after replacing the tubing and if the clutch has ever gone all the way empty you'll have to bleed it too. Clutch is easy to bleed -- there's a nipple on top of the slave cylinder, maybe with a rubber plug over it. When you do the brakes, remember that this is a dual-diagonal circuit and so you have to start by bleeding the rear brake on one side and then do the front brake on the OPPOSITE side.
There are lots of techniques for bleeding the brakes but I strongly endorse buying one of those Mity-Vac bleeder gizmos -- cost easily justified if your time (and aggravation) are worth anything to you!
