Thanks guys,
I have warmed the engine up some , last winter.
Still running a ( opened up ) one barrel, But have gone the larger piston, porting, cam and lighter flywheel route.
I am talking with a guy who parted out a 96 and will most likely buy his trans-axle and suspension.
Others have warned me Not to put sway bars on.
so I may make that a last ditch effort after trying stiffer, shorter springs and adjustable shocks.
I am already in F street Prepared ( carb change and body mods ) so the problem of staying "stock" is gone.
I suspected the shift problem could only be corrected by tightening the loose nut behind the steering wheel ( and over the shifter! ).
Now... about storing the soccer balls for wider ( smaller diameter ?) wheels and some Hoosier's ....
I'm thinking.. 14" ? change the bolt pattern to 4 X 100 mm ( for wheel availability ? )
That should give me more tire clearance and keep the tire mass down.
And allow me to use the good supply of available used racing tires here near Mid Ohio.
Any ideas?
Anyone know where I can find a steel balance gear?
Numbers are going on the doors this week.
Car gets a lot of attention now! I'm gonna have to watch my speed!
I was going to try and restore my car to as close to stock as possible..
but when the hood needed so much work...
Oh heck! I wanna have fun too! Maybe I'll find room for another for concours Sonett!
Thanks! PW
