Over the years I managed to gather some nice engine parts that I planned to save for making a tuned engine. Unfortunately life interfered so I have to downsize my short-term dreams. One of the parts I have is a hotter cam. Right now I happen to have the engine out (gearbox needs some rebuilding) and I was thinking to change the cam and the flywheel. Am I correct in assuming the cam can be done without lifting the heads? I was thinking of draining the oil, taking out the distributor, securing the oil pump shaft, taking off the shafts with the rocker arms and inverting the engine so that the tappets won't fall down. By inverting the engine the tappets fall "up" so the cam is free to be taken out. Am I assuming correctly? Are there things I am overlooking? TIA,
Alex
