Hi Kansas and Thor,
Thank you for your insight. Kansas, never mind the state of your memory, I sometimes have problems remembering how I repaired parts on my 99 while I did these things far less than 20 years ago. I live in the Netherlands some 15 km north of Amsterdam.
Your and Thor's input combined I think I leave the cam and flywheel change for now. The valve seat job would set me back ± €500,- (about $625,-) and unfortunately I can't afford it right now. Besides that, my aim would then be for bigger valves and I read somewhere that when you go that way there is no room for hardened seats.
I know the flywheel job does not add hp but the quicker throttle response is what I am aiming for, but I'll leave this for later too.
I don't know exactly what the cam specs 7.2 and 7.9 stand for either but I think it specifies the lift in mm. According to Haynes the standard cam has 6.49mm so a hotter cam having a higher lift stands to reason.
Kansas, if you can mail me off list about the price of the book and how to pay for it we can work something out.
Take care,
Alex
