A-arm installation Posted by Craig K [Email] (#1834) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Craig K) on Thu, 23 Aug 2007 18:18:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Since I have the engine out of my 68 for rebuild I have been doing some major cleanup, rebuild, and maintenance inside and out of the engine bay area. This included removing the entire suspension in order to re-coat the outside wall. It was not until I had pretty much reassembled everything that I ran across one of Jack's writings that mentioned the importance of setting the A-arms at a specified angle during installation. I assumed the bushings would allow the arms to rotate to the proper position once the engine is installed. With the spring in and engine out there doesn't seem to be a way to get me there. I guess my question is if I leave the bushing nuts loose and drop the engine in, will this achieve the desired angles? I don't want to mess with that spring again. Thanks for any input.
