I have confirmed it time and again: using regular gas gives me better fuel economy. Trouble is, when I try to use it in my NG900, the engine runs rougher and noisier. So I use premuim fuel, even though it leads to about 10% higher fuel consumption.
All my experience is non-turbo, so maybe it's not directly applicable.
Regular fuel has higher energy density than premium. That's is what I have read.
