I'm not sure I understand these threads very well. What was the price of the G35x? Which car was the most fun to drive. I can't be the only one who goes to the dealer as last as possible and takes cars out onto empty roads for test drives at 90mph+. Jeez, when we tested the Aero, my wife put my own test drive to shame (and impressed me at the same time!). We test drove a Mini Cooper, Mercedes C240, Audi A4 1.8t, BMW 340i, a 9-3 Linear, Vector, Aero, and the 9-2X Aero. We already owned a fantastic 99 9-3 hatchback and were fans of the hatchback style. The prices for the Saabs were so much lower than any of the other cars. The only interior that was a close call was the Audi but the 1.8t was woefully underpowered (still cost way more than the Aero without even thinking of going for the 2.0 engine that would've made the Audi more than a toy).
I want to know what car made the driving worth the driving? If the IS is a really fun drive (I don't know how you determine $7,500 of fun) and the Saab was ho hum, it's a no brainer.
Test drive, test drive, and test drive.
-Scott
p.s. And please, do a real test drive... It's not about what the blinker sounds like, it's about how the wheels sound when you go around a tight on loop in third gear at 5,500 rpms before you hit the straightaway and shift into fourth with a sudden kick of acceleration with naught the merest thought of a problem of merging from traffic coming up behind you... my god, I can't get enough excuses to drive the Aero. I mean, just tonight, we ordered pizza to go with our movie on the veritable Sunday night on the couch and I came to stop sign, right for the short way to the parlor, left - the long way with a one exit stretch of highway... I took the highway path...
