I too don't find the 9-5 paddle set-up rewarding. First you have to carefully select the manual gate from the quadrant and then you can paddle. Same going out, carefully select, which defeats the whole purpose. My shift brain is not wired to my fingers, but rather my arm, so the slap shifter is very natural. You don't have to look or anything, just bang the lever into the Sentronic gate and notch it a couple of times back for a couple of downshifts. Slap it back over for drive. Very natural and easy. And if you do wanna' paddle the thumb paddles on the face of the steering wheel are easier to use.
