Wondering if anyone can help me with this.

I have an '06 Aero w/ the Infotainment sound package (no navigation). Once I had the XM unit installed, I began to notice the crappy range of XM Commander. I am constantly adjusting the treble and bass to get the desired sound. Unfortunately, I can't get there and any adjustment of the bass drowns out any adjustments of the treble and often overwhelms it. If I switch back to the FM radio, I have to re-adjust everything.

In a continued attempt to find a good sound, I started adjusting the fader to determine if any speakers were out of whack (or is it wack?). On a normal radio sound (for me, the bass is slightly above middle and treble a little more than that) with it completely faded to the rear, the high-freq. range speakers do not seem to have a lot of power or volume and there is almost no bass at all through the 'subwoofer' speakers--In order to get anything out of the woofers, the bass must be increased significantly which then impacts the rest of the bass up front when the fader is returned to center. When I put the fader completely to the front (and with the 'normal' bass and treble settings), the total range is quite significant and almost too loud (for FM and XM and CD). It almost feels as if the front speakers are 'top heavy' on power and any slight deviation to the rear speakers via the fader results in a great loss of overall range. (sorry for rambling...are you still there?)

Is the sound adjustable through the tech II software or other controls? Could the installation of my XM have thrown off the rest of the stereo (the xm is, to my knowledge, only installed into the AUX input and my Ipod sounds so much better when used instead). Is the sound something that I can further tweak through the installation of 'cross-overs' or an equalizer (in the trunk)? Thanks for any help.
