Just did the Euro Delivery in March. It is a great experience the Rottedahm (sp?) where they put you up for the night is a really nice place, especially for European standards. The museum is nice, but we weren't able to get a factory tour--they're not always available.

Once we received our car, we drove to a port just south of Copehagen (which took about 6 - 7 hours). Then we took a ferry over to Germany the next morning. Then its probably 4 hours to Berlin and 3 to Munich. There are so many options depending on how much ferry time you want to have. you can actually leave on a 12-hr ferry from Gothenberg which will take you into Germany. We just chose to drive it and take the shortest ferry. Check out http://www.viamichelin.com for you travel route.

Definitely don't pass up the experience. Check out out some of the special deals like the Winter ICe Experience or the Swedish Open and you can make it worth your time. As for saving money on the trip. Flight to London (I would suggest London-gatwick) and then jump on another low cost airline like British Airways or RyanAir to get to Sweden.
