I have one each..... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 6 Sep 2006 16:26:05 In Reply to: 9-3 vs 9-5, coachb, Mon, 4 Sep 2006 20:10:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
A 2000 9-5 lpt Sedan and a 2006 9-3SC 2.0T
Differences: Other than overall length they are remarkable equal in size. The 9-5 seems to have a lower and more streamlined front end, and my sedan is actually a 1/2-inch shorter in height than the SC. The interior of the 9-3 seems smaller, whereas the 9-5 is a 4-1/2 passenger car the 9-3 is a 4 passenger car (I don't care how many seat belts there are). The 9-3 interior has more storage cubbies (a real shortfall of the 9-5 but is much less "rich" feeling. The 9-3 has hard plastic in spots where the 9-5 has wood, leather, or soft plastic.
Controls are slightly different between the two, but they drive very much alike. My wife's comment when test driving the 9-3 was "It drives just like your (the 9-5) car."
I like them both, but the 9-5 is clearly the upper level/more luxurious car of the two.
