Many loyal Saabers have both.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Tue, 5 Sep 2006 14:38:11 In Reply to: 9-3 vs 9-5, coachb, Mon, 4 Sep 2006 20:10:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
And are quite happy with both. Newer younger Saabers and folks new to the brand tend to prefer the fresher, newer 9-3 style. Way old Saabers like the 9-5 for it's links to the Saab past in a thoroughly modern car.
This is skewed by the total makeover of the 2006 9-5, inside and out. Not as traditionally Saab inside like the 99-05 9-5s, though still a 9-5 through and through. 9-5 folks needed a change.
9-3SS' handle better, have smoother fours and fresher safety designs, though a 9-5 is till a heckuva' safe car. A little smaller goes without saying. Once secrect to the 9-5 is that they had virtually none of the glitches that sunk reliability ratings as the first year 9-3SS did. 9-3SS are fine now.
