Performance advantage Aero.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] In Reply to: Re: 2006 9-3 Aero SS (first Saab), kimball, Fri, 15 Sep 2006 14:42:14 Members see ZERO ads on the bulletin boards and get more feature. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The 2006 330Cic is still an E46 body, just 220hp and the 5 speed auto. IMHO a 9-3SS is more than a match for any E46, better handling, higher limits, roomier, faster, torquier. Fast forward to 2006 and the 250hp V6 Aeros solidly trump the old (current) E46 330 line. Not so with the new bodystyle E90 sedans, but true for the old E46 line that soldiers on as the 2006 3 series vert.
As for verts specifically, the Saab is roomier, more of a full size back seat, with a larger trunk. You gotta' add sport and premium to the BMW to even out the equipment to the Aero. The 330 is closer in performance to the 2.0T, and at a base sticker about $10k less than the 330Cic. The Aero is about $5k less base sticker than the $330Cic.
One Saab trick BMW has copied for their outgoing bodystyle is the rebate. Greater rebates on BMW verts than Saabs! 'Cept BMW folks call it trunk money and it works on leases and purchases.
