Having been involved in automotive electronics for many years, I can tell you that automotive electronics systems are designed to withstand 24V jump starts consistently and load-dump conditions for short durations (condition where battery and regulating circuits are out of the picture and the electronics is subjected to free-running alternator voltage up to 40 volts). It appears that AAA may have exceeded even these margins -you may have to pursue claiming damages from them.
As far as what could be wrong: electronic systems require that the battery supply is regulated to a clean 12.0V or lower voltage. This is conventionally done in the target device itself (such as in the radio or cpu unit) but modern trend is to also have a separate power supply conditioner/regulator module that resides between the battery supply and theses electonic devices. You might look into such a module for the problem -could be an internal fuse or a fried component. This may be a likely scenario if the infotainment system was replaced and the problem is still there. Hope this helps.
